Terms and conditions

At Kalle the normal rules for renting of rorbuer in Lofoten applies. The cabins are designed and equipped for self-catering in order to enable the guest to take their own responsibility for the daily cleaning and waste. Bedclothes/towels are also included. We take care of the final cleaning and it is not included in the base price.

Especially for the ones renting a rorbu at Kalle, activities and offers are more or less included in the price! Just contact us in the reception or look at more detailed tips and suggestions for activities at our website.

General: Rorbuene at Kalle are close together and are well soundproofed. But remember that everybody has a neighbor at the other side of the wall. Be extra aware of your neighbors while staying out on the porch in the evenings. Gladly speak to your neighbor and try to find a mutual agreement. But make sure to enjoy the summer nights and feel free to use tables and benches at the main building or at the beach. Just make sure to consider the other guests!  

All the rorbus are smoke free!

Check-in/out: Normal check-out before 12:00 and check-inn after 15.00. We are very flexible. Just contact us.

Prices: The base price apply for up to 4 persons in each rorbu (oer 12 years old). The additional cost per extra person is 300 kr per night. Bed Clothes and towels are found in the room. 

Payment: VISA/MasterCard or cash. Advance payment is not required. Preferably pay at check-in, if possible.

Cancellation: We are flexible and prefer that you inform us as soon as possible if there has been any change of plans. Otherwise ordinary cancellation applies; If canceled up to one month before the day of arrival, no fee will be paid.

Making of beds: At the rorbua there are good quilts and pillows. We are occupied with good hygiene and keeping the places clean. Therefore we wish that you do not use your own bed clothes. At the rorbuene or in the reception there are clean bed clothes that shall be used. This is now included in the price. You make your bed on your own. Used bed clothes and towels are delivered to the reception at check-out.

The final cleaning: The rorbua or the house shall be left clean and in order. Pots and pans should be cleaned thoroughly. The stove and the oven should be inspected extra carefully. We take care of the final cleaning against an obligatory fee of 500 kr per rorbu (750 for Nordlandshuset).

Waste: Unfortunately, there are no possibilities for a proper waste sorting at the rorbuene in Lofoten. We still recommend that bottles/glass and pawn bottles/cans are sorted. Residual waste thrown in the waste racks by the reception. Do not throw usable food and accessories you do not wish to take with you after check-out. Leave it, and we will take care of it.

Heating: The rorbuene are electrically heated and have heated floors in the bathroom. In addition there is a fireplace in each rorbu. Dry firewood is found in the rorbu and can be supplemented with our firewood stock at the dock. Do not use paper in the fireplaces, instead use lighter briquettes or  birch bark. The rorbuene are well insulated so limit the usage of firewood. Do not use the fireplace without frequent supervision. Be extra careful while drying clothes etc. Do not put anything on top of the fireplaces. 

Children's beds: All children are welcome. Children's beds and extra beds can be requested at the reception. 

Meals: Living in the rorbuer is based on self-catering. The rorbuene is well equipped with a ceramic hob and stove.

Parking: Private parking is available at the rorbuene with no additional fees. 

Animals: Animals are allowed in selected rorbuer. You may be charged an additional fee for extra cleaning. Must be kept on a leash. VAT and city/tourist taxes: 12.00% VAT is included. There are currently no city/tourist tax in Lofoten.
